Welcome to Art For Monkees Sake: Drawing, Sleepy Jean's section of various pencil and pastel drawings I've sketched over the years. As a young child, I always had an unusually accurate eye for recreating images on paper. I was considered the "artist" at school, the kind of girl who could draw anything, etc. Yet, drawing didn't fascinate me that much growing up, perhaps because it came so easily [unlike everything else I try to do, ha ha]. I never poored myself into drawing, I never went into art school. It was always a hobby, and as I became more of a perfectionist, a frustrating one. Now as an adult I wonder what it would have been like if I did it more... But I never regret the time I spent engrossed in psychology, sociology, writing, and photography instead. ;) Here is a loose collection of samples of my drawings from over the years.
