For New Years this year, I go to Michigan. Complete with airplane flight and everything... |

| Ooooooohhhhh... Ahhhhhhhhh... Aren't my terminal pictures pretty??? I am such an artist with everyday things, I swear. There was a THREE HOUR DELAY IN DC. I was told the reason for this was "the crew never arrived". As in, the pilots decided they didn't feel like flying that day. Uh huh. Yeah, I feel safe. I literally spent at least 20 minutes of that time sitting in a windowless part of the terminal, watching one of those picture ads move back and forth from the distance. Mmmmm. But, remarkably, they decided to find crew for our flight after all, and so, late New Years Eve, I finally arrived in Detroit. The sun was setting, and I thought it was so pretty and calm, I had to take it. |
This picture I like a lot.
My obsession with turn of the 20th century bi-planes somehow has been enmeshed with airports of this lifetime, and the ability to fly, for many reasons. I never got to fly or travel very far when I was a kid, and so, this was always a glamorous, unknown priveledge for "other" people that fascinated me. I also just love something about the associations it has with me: traveling safely, easily, to anywhere in the world, the possibility to see all different people and places and then return home at anytime, my dreams to become famous and have to do this as part of my job. It actually makes me feel united with the world. Airports overall just make me excited. The possibilities! |

| Another soothing, calm, beautiful picture indulging in my obsession with airplanes and airports... |
This is Miki's sister, Michelle, complete in her Teenage Mutant
Ninja Turtles sweatshirt. Michelle has such an intense love and collection
of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that she was actually put on a show
called Totally Obsessed for it, interviewed by several newspapers, and asked
to go on Ellen Degenres (however you spell her name). I kid you not. She does not
live with Miki, however, only picked me up from the airport.
Miki's house is looking bright, colorful, enveloped in the holiday spirit! I don't remember her couch being that bright shade of pink, however... interesting... |

New Years Eve: we watch Yellow Submarine and something else
until midnight, make some drinks,
then go outside to see all the people screaming,
"Happy New Years!". Miki begins camera wars, trying to take
my picture while refusing to let me take hers/and/or not
letting her entire face be seen. Now Miki has a frightening collection
of mostly unflattering pictures of me flailing with my camera trying
to take her picture. Hmmmm.
Duc looks pretty cool here, with her hair in the wind, pretending not to care... |
I have a strange feeling they really didn't want this picture online. Hmmmmmm. |

| How I love Duc. | This is proof that we went to Eight Mile, which thrills me if anything, because EminEm lived there. Apparently where he actually lived we could not go to, because we would be shot. But, anyway... This was the day we drove around Eight Mile and Detroit, and went to the haunted historic mental hospital, the 1920's beach, found the eternally frozen ice fountain, which as you can see I have numerous amounts of pictures of. No, Miki does, and when she sends them all to me, I will create a new page on them... sorry guys. |

|
| This is my last day in Michigan, before I had to go to the airport. Miki's sister took this. Miki thinks she's so cool doing that behind my head... uh huh... I spent days doing SO MUCH in Michigan, sleeping a mean average of 4.3 hours a night. However, I do not have pictures of most of this. But I know who does. | Miki and I with the radio tower. FINALLY, SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS MY RADIO TOWER OBSESSION. *Micky*. I have been obsessed with radio broacasting, radios and radio towers all my life, which I consciously accepted at the age of 14. I tried, *sigh*, I tried to explain the love... But did they listen??? This is one of my favorite pictures of Miki and I. |
|
|
| And at last, I must meet the airport again. Leaving Michigan and my careless days of debauchery and my interpretative dance to "Tahiti Condo". Miki has threatened to kidnap me if I don't return to Michigan soon, which I do plan to. Thanks Miki and Duc, I love you two! |
